Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy surrender to Jesus

Actor and New Kids on the Block star Donnie Wahlberg and his wife, television host Jenny McCarthy, have been baptised after both spoke publicly this year about surrendering their lives to Jesus Christ. Wahlberg shared footage of the baptisms in a birthday video on 17 August, set to music by Elevation Worship, writing that the Lord had been 'renewing my mind, rebuilding my spirit, rearranging my priorities... refining my faith, restoring my joy and redeeming my life.' He added, 'I don't know where I would be without Jesus, but I know where I will be with Him! All the glory is his.' The couple were baptised by Dudley Rutherford, lead pastor of Shepherd Church in Porter Ranch, California, which draws around 8,000 people weekly. Wahlberg, raised in an Irish Catholic family in Massachusetts, spoke in April about spending years relying on his own strength before realising his need to surrender to God. McCarthy shared a similar testimony on a podcast this spring, saying they had 'given our life to the Lord, and are just trusting the path.'
