The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly preparing to move back to the UK later this month, more than six years after stepping away from royal duties and relocating to North America. Harry and Meghan are expected to live in a private, non-royal residence outside London for an extended period. At the same time, their children, Archie and Lilibet, will begin attending a British school in September. King Charles has been informed of the plans and is understood to welcome the opportunity for more private contact with his son and grandchildren. The move will not change Harry and Meghan’s status as non-working members of the Royal Family. Their relationship with the wider family has been strained since 2020 following public interviews, documentaries and Harry’s autobiography, although the Duke has repeatedly expressed a desire for reconciliation. The King recently spent time with his grandchildren during a family visit to Britain. Questions remain around security arrangements, an issue that has previously caused Harry considerable concern when considering bringing his family to the UK.
