Christians living in the Arabian peninsula are facing growing uncertainty, primarily because of the Iran conflict. According to Bishop Aldo Berardi, Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia, many believers are migrant workers from Asia who increasingly view their stay in the Gulf as temporary rather than permanent. The conflict, including recent attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain, has heightened fears and disrupted employment, travel and family life. Some workers have lost jobs and returned to their home countries, while others remain unsure about their future. Children and families are particularly affected by repeated security alerts and ongoing anxiety. Despite these challenges, church life remains vibrant, with strong attendance at worship services and continued participation in baptisms, confirmations and other aspects of Christian life. However, many believers are questioning their long-term future in the region as migration patterns change and instability continues to shape the outlook for communities across the Gulf.
