A Devon beach became the scene of an extraordinary public celebration of Christian faith when 170 people were baptised in the sea at Bigbury-on-Sea. Merlin Kraft, founder of the Christian channel BibleLadUK, organised the baptisms through social media after receiving requests from people across Britain. Participants travelled from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, northern England, the Isle of Wight, Cornwall, and Devon; one couple reportedly walked three hours from Kingsbridge to reach the beach. Local churches, pastors and volunteers supported the event, helping with baptisms and providing free food and Bibles afterwards. Kraft, who describes himself simply as a follower of Christ rather than a pastor, said he remained amazed by what happened and believed 'God was in it the whole way'. He believes that growing interest in his posts on social media reflects a spiritual hunger among people searching for hope amid troubling news.

Crosswinds Prayer Trust was founded in 1994, at Nailsea, near Bristol in the South-west of England by Canon John Simons. Its aim is to mobilise, inform, connect and equip people in Christian Prayer...
