Hope Beryl-Green, a survivor of Jeffrey Epstein and decades of trafficking and abuse, has shared how discovering the true character of Jesus brought hope and freedom after Scripture had been twisted against her. Beryl-Green says she was trafficked from childhood and taught that God hated her and that her abuse was His will. During a rare moment outside, however, seeing a yellow flower and butterfly gave her hope that God might be different from everything she had been told. She later discovered Jesus as loving and gracious, rather than the distorted image presented by her abusers. After 31 years, she escaped exploitation and is now a Christian minister and campaigner helping other survivors find healing and justice. She recently helped launch STAND alongside other abuse survivors, calling for stronger action against trafficking and exploitation. She is urging churches to recognise signs of trafficking, provide safe places for survivors, and be equipped to support people whose understanding of Christianity has been damaged through spiritual abuse.
