A huge community search for missing three-year-old Noah Woods has ended in tragedy after police recovered a child’s body from a pond in Brantham, Suffolk. Noah disappeared after becoming separated from a relative while visiting a playground on Tuesday afternoon. CCTV showed him running down an alley towards a nearby housing estate. Because Noah was non-verbal, partially deaf and autistic, locating him presented particular challenges for search teams. Police officers, specialist search teams, dogs, helicopters, coastguard personnel and firefighters joined the operation, alongside more than 1,300 members of the public. Volunteers travelled from across the country to help, with police describing the response as overwhelming and a reflection of Suffolk’s strong community spirit. The body was discovered by specialist teams in Decoy Pond, close to where Noah was last seen. Formal identification has not yet taken place, but his family has been informed. Police say the death is currently being treated as unexplained but not suspicious, and have asked that Noah’s family be given privacy.
