A new YouGov poll suggests 67% of Londoners would vote for Britain to rejoin the EU, highlighting significant regional differences in attitudes towards Brexit. The survey of 2,312 British adults found support for rejoining stood at 44% in the Midlands, 48% across the rest of southern England, and 50% in northern England. Only 15% of London respondents favoured remaining outside the EU. London mayor Sadiq Khan has strongly advocated reversing Brexit, arguing that leaving the bloc has damaged Britain's economy. Andy Burnham has meanwhile opened discussions about closer European integration, including possible membership of the customs union, single market or eventually the EU itself. The poll also found that 57% of Londoners supported holding another referendum if the Government proposed rejoining. Conservative and Reform UK leaders oppose reversing Brexit, while Labour figures remain divided over whether another public vote would be necessary. Pollsters cautioned that regional sample sizes were relatively small, meaning the findings should be interpreted carefully.
