Former MTV reality star Davis Mallory has shared how a renewed encounter with Jesus led him to reconsider his relationships, sexuality, and Christian faith. Mallory, who previously identified as gay while also considering himself Christian, says the change developed gradually through Scripture, prayer, Christian friendships, and personal reflection. After experiencing fear following hostile reactions to his testimony, he said that Proverbs 3:5, 'Lean not on your own understanding', came powerfully to mind, followed by encouragement from other Christians which brought peace. After wondering if his relationships were producing the spiritual fruit he desired, he was particularly challenged after hearing former adult-film performer turned pastor Joshua Broome speak on John 10:10 at a Christian conference. Mallory subsequently became close to a Christian woman named Rachel, whose friendship encouraged his exploration of biblical faith; the pair are now dating. He says his experience has helped him distinguish between lust and committed love and believes God is using his public story to encourage others wrestling with questions of sexuality, identity, and discipleship.
